This is the smallest municipality in the region, at the geographic and historical limits between little and big Cerdanya, stretching from the left bank of the Serge River to the old road between Bellver de Cerdanya and Alp.
There are two town centers: Prats, at 1,124m; and Sansor, at 1.068m.
The existing fortification ruins of Capdevila, original center of Prats de Cerdanya, dates from 982 . Today, the new zone, "el Barri", has a collection of well-maintained antique houses. Along with the panoramic views of Cerdanya, there is the church of Sant Salvador de Predanies, XII century and the church of Sant Serni, X century, that preserve several original Romanesque elements.
In Sansor, the residential area "el Pla" has become an important center of hotels and restaurants. Located in the center of the plains, it also maintains the Romanesque ruins of the church of Sant Miquel. |
