It is located at an altitude of 1090m in the center of the plains, near the confluence of the Alp and Segre rivers, and has always had fertile land thanks to the abundance of water. Long ago, Soriguera and Soriguerola were farmhouses, but the latter has expanded to become a small village. It is accessible from the rural route from Escardarcs or the local Pugicerdà-Alp road, pass by the Soriguera homestead, transformed today into semi-detached houses. The new asphalt access road to the Fontanals Golf club in Alp is in perfect condition.
Like so many others, this old agriculture village, with very few habitants, is growing thanks to tourism, the proliferation of secondary, rustic residences and new sources of entertainment. The Romanesque church of Saint Michael dates from the XI century. The frontal of this small church is currently located in the Catalunya Art Museum, in Barcelona
