Puigcerdà sits at an altitude of 1,202m, between the Querol and Segre rivers, just at the border's edge with France, crossed by the most important communication routes of inland Catalunya Capital of the region, the main service center of Cerdanya. Its streets attract a significant number of visitors, even from France, mainly for its commercial activity, especially the Sunday market.
A notable Romanesque and Gothic architectural collection - the Bell Tower, the Pont de Sant Martí, the churches, the Convent,... - with exceptional works of art from the eighteenth and XX century.
